Nine players remain in the 2025 WPT Prime Gold Coast Championship Event at The Star Gold Coast Casino out of a field of 1,106 entries and they will be competing for the biggest share of the AUD $1,918,500 (US $$1,203,091) prize pool as of noon local time. Besides the WPT Prime champion’s title and six-figure payday, the final nine hopefuls are also competing for an entry to the WPT World Championships in December as well.
It is an Aussie and Kiwi affair with Jiaxu “Josh” Chen topping leaderboard with a stack of 9,850,000, followed by Daniel Klinger (7,300,000). Among the notable finalists are Patrick Yazbeck (5,275,000), Michael Egan (5,100,000) and rising young gun Gary Lin (4,525,000).
There are 23:13 minutes left in level 27 at blinds of 50,000-100,000 with a big blind ante of 100,000 and all of the levels continue at a duration of 60 minutes until the heads-up stage, after which they are halved to 30 minutes.
