Ricky Kroesen Earns a Knockout Before Dinner

According to the tournament info, the Day 1c field is up to 295 entries with some 165 players remaining and they are now all on a 45-minute dinner break until approximately 6.45 p.m. local time.

Ricky Kroesen is heading into dinner with a nice boost as he recalls a knockout in the final hand which he describes as “this is one of those break hands”.

Kroesen flat-calls a hijack raise with on the button and the big blind also calls. On the flop, he bets 7,000 when checked to and the hijack check-raises to 17,000. Kroesen calls and does so again for 25,000 on the turn. After the river, his opponent jams for around 40,000 and Kroesen calls with the pair of eights to get shown ace-high for a matter of seconds.
