With some six minutes left on the clock and 26 players still in contention, the clock is stopped but not for hand-for-hand mode as there is essentially no bubble in play. All four flights need to reach the 12.5% of their remaining field to send everyone into the money for Day 2.

One table quickly finishes their three hands to bag up chips for the night while table 18 is on their first of three last hands for the night.

Natalia Rozova opens to 16,000 from an early position and Wiremu Renata defends the big blind to the flop. Renata check-raises to 60,000 and Rozova then reraises to 120,000 for Renata to call, and check the on the turn.

Rozova pushes all-in for 155,000 and Renata instantly calls to reveal his for flopped bottom two pair that have become nines full of tens.

“Wow, that is so annoying,” Rozova sighs as she flips over for the flopped king-high straight that is already drawing dead. The meaningless river completes the board and the stacks are counted. Rozova is covered by a mere two and a half blinds to become the last casualty on Day 1a, as all remaining 25 players bag their chips for tonight.
