Michael Ticknor More Than Triples Up and Knocks Out a Player

Nov 16, 2024

After a couple of players enter the pot, Michael Ticknor moves all in from the hijack for 15,200. Wagner Wysotchanski calls from the cutoff, and the player on the button calls all in with a smaller stack. Romi Malhotra calls 15,200 from the small blind, and the first two players fold.

Two players are all in, with a main pot and a side pot set up. Any additional betting between Malhotra and Wysotchanski will create a side pot.

The flop comes Heart KClub 9Diamond 8, Malhotra bets 5,000, and Wysotchanski calls.

The turn card is the Spade 7, Malhotra bets 5,000 again, and Wysotchanski calls.

The river card is the Club Q, and both players check. Everyone turns over their cards, and here they are in descending order of chip counts:

Romi Malhotra:  Heart ADiamond K  (pair of kings)
Wagner Wysotchanski:  Diamond ADiamond 5  (ace high)
Michael Ticknor:  Spade KSpade 8  (two pair, kings and eights)
Button:  Spade JDiamond J  (pair of jacks)

Ticknor wins the main pot and the first side pot with his two pair to more than triple up in chips, while Malhotra wins the final side pot with his pair of kings.

Michael Ticknor  –  55,000  (69 bb)
Romi Malhotra  –  99,000  (124 bb)
