Matt Marafioti is in the big blind when he and his opponent go heads-up to a flop of KK7. Marafioti checks, his opponent bets 3,200 from the cutoff, and Marafioti check-raises to 7,200 total. His opponent calls.
The turn brings the 3 and both players check. The river brings the A and Marafioti bets 11,900. His opponent deliberates a bit before calling.
“Ace,” Marafioti says without revealing his hand. His opponent remains motionless with his hand over his cards.
“Ace-nine,” Marafioti specifies. His opponent still doesn’t muck.
“Ace-nine suited,” Marafioti says as he tables his A9 for aces up. His opponent sighs, mucks, and Marafioti takes the pot.
