Grant Lang Wins the Last Hand of the Night

Dec 7, 2011

Grant Lang raises from under the gun, Jared Bleznik calls in middle position, and Vanessa Selbst calls out of the big blind.  The flop comes [Kh2s2d] and Selbst checks.  Lang bets 8,200 and both Bleznik and Selbst call.

The turn brings the [Ad] and Selbst checks again.  Lang bets 30,000 and Bleznik folds, making tablemate Annette Obrestad looks at his hand before he mucks.  Selbst thinks a minute, then calls.

The river brings a 5 and both players check.  Lang shows [2h6h] for trip deuces and Selbst lets out a frustrated sigh before flashing Lang a king.

"Missed 100,000 on the river," Selbst tells Lang, referring to his choice to check behind.  She continues, asking Lang, "How do you raise 6-2 under the gun and get the flop to come K-2-2? Teach me."

"It isn’t easy," Lang jokes as he rakes in the pot that secures him the end of day chip lead.

Grant Lang – 382,000
Vanessa Selbst – 148,000
