In the penultimate level of the night, one of the biggest pots of the tournament unfolded when Adam Thaggard pulled off a gutsy move that changed the top of the leaderboard.
Thaggard raised to 12,000 and then called a three-bet to 33,000 by Matthew Woodhall to see the flop. Thaggard check-called for 12,000 and then led the
turn for 32,000. Woodhall raised it up to 80,000 and Thaggard stuck around after brief consideration.
Once the river completed the board, Thaggard then moved all-in with the covering stack to send Woodhall into the tank. After asking for a count on the shove by Thaggard, which was for 267,000 total, Woodhall called all-in for 157,000.
Thaggard just shook his head with a smirk on the face and sheepishly exposed the first before also showing the
for just a pair of deuces. Woodhall earned a massive double with
for a flopped set of jacks and skyrocketed near the top of the leaderboard.
Both players made it through the final level of the night and Thaggard advanced with a stack of 612,000 for a top five stack behind the new overall chip leader Michael Egan (793,000) in flight 1c. This spectacular clash between Thaggard and Woodhall is the Gold Hand of the Day.
