During the third-last level of the night, a huge pot worth more than 130 big blinds developed and Craig Rimmer took it down to join the biggest stacks in the entire room during the business end of the final starting day.
It all kicked off rather innocent with a raise to 10,000 by Adrian Pacheco from under the gun and he received three callers including Wadih Barbara in the next seat, Uno Bolovson in the small blind and Rimmer in the big blind.
On a flop of , the action checked to Barbara and he bet 40,000, leaving himself only 23,000 behind. Bolovson folded and Rimmer min-raised to 80,000 which Pacheco reluctantly called. Barbara called all-in and the massive main pot was set with Barbara awaiting his fate
The followed on the turn and Rimmer check-raised all-in to send his table neighbour Pacheco into a very deep tank.
“I don’t think you would reraise with a five there,” Pacheco said while he tanked for nearly seven minutes as the level clock runs down for level 13.
“You gonna see it no matter what,” Rimmer told Pacheco who replied “yeah, I understand”.
With thirty seconds left in the level, Rimmer told him that he will call the clock. That’s what happened indeed, and during the thirty seconds extra count down, Pacheco called to set up the massive pot with two players at risk.

The river was the and Rimmer scooped the main and side pot to take over the lead. Pacheco dropped from one of the largest stacks to just a dozen big blinds while Rimmer set the foundation for a very strong finish with 748,000 to finish Day 1b a shade behind Toby Joyce (760,000). That’s our Gold Hand of the Day here at The Star Gold Coast.
