My first level at the Legends of Poker went alright.
There were a couple spots where there was a loose raise and a couple people would call. I would just three bet and was able to pick up some chips that way.
I was up to about 24,000 when a tough hand came up. I picked up Queens under the gun and raised it up. I got called in three spots and the flop came down 6 4 3 rainbow. There was 1,200 in the pot and I bet out 900. At this point I figured that if somebody raised I had to be crushed since I hadn’t been open raising out of position and it looked pretty obvious that I was protecting a big pair. Mark Seif called, which didn’t necessarily concern me. I thought he could have a hand like Fives or maybe a smaller overpair. Another player raised to $2,700 which seemed like a really small raise. I was pretty reluctant to fold but I felt that by now I was playing my hand face up and out of position so I decided to lay it down. Seif called and the board came out A 3 and they checked it down. Seif showed down Sevens to pick up the pot which obviously was pretty tough to see. But I still like my fold considering the circumstances.
Right now I have 22,300 and I like the way I’m playing, so we’ll see how everything develops.
