Gediminas Uselis Wins 2021-2022 Seminole Rock 'N' Roll Main Event for $778,490

After starting the day in the middle of the pack with six players remaining, Gediminas Uselis eliminated the final two players of the final table to etch his name onto the WPT Mike Sexton Champions Cup and take home the first-place prize of $778,490.

“I came here, and this was the first tournament I sat down in. I didn’t sleep much, and I just kept going and going. I was playing small pots, big pots, slowly building. Slowly, nothing special,” Uselis said. “There was for sure a bunch of action. It was a crazy (final) table, so I just needed to wait. I made a couple of moves because there were a couple of amateurs as well, so I was really lucky to make this final table.”

Jacob Ferro finishes in second place for $573,605, the same place he started when the day began, but it was a roller coaster of a day for the Syracuse native.

Ferro started the day by losing over half his stack to Clayton Maguire on the tenth hand of the day but battled back to take the chip lead into three-handed play. Ultimately it wasn’t enough as he ran into a brutal cooler on hand 102 in the relatively short heads-up match.

Start of the day, chip leader Harout Ghazarian finished in 3rd place for $380,000 after falling victim to Uselis on hand 84, running his pocket deuces into pocket kings.

Selahaddin Bedir navigated the second shortest stack to start the day all the way to a 4th place finish for $282,380 after falling on hand 67 to Ferro’s ace-king.

Ten hands after taking half of Ferro’s stack, Maguire found himself all-in and at risk holding pocket eights against the ace-four of Bedir. Bedir flopped an ace to send Maguire home in 5th place for $211,925.

Anshul Rai came into the day with just five big blinds, found himself all-in on the first hand of play, and was eliminated in 6th place for $170,835 after having his ace-king cracked by Ghazarian’s ace-king.

“This (Seminole Hard Rock) is a really nice place. I’ll be coming back in January for sure. This is one of the best hotels in the United States, I would say.” Uselis said. “I hear the WPT Five Diamond is coming up, so I’m going home for a little bit, and then I will probably go there because I need to keep grinding.”
