Day 1A Ends with Shiina Okamoto Leading 158 Survivors with 1,705,000

After the elimination of Angel Guillen, the Money Bubble burst, and the surviving 158 players bagged up their chips for Day 2, where everyone will be in the money. The big stack belongs to Shiina Okamoto, who went on an incredible streak late in the day (including cracking aces to knock out Will Givens) to finish with 1,705,000 (171 big blinds). Okamoto has about twice as many chips as anyone else in the field.

There were 1,264 entries on Day 1A, and the full list of the 158 survivors can be found in the Chip Counts tab (click here), and here’s a look at the top 10:

Action ended with 21:00 remaining in Level 17, with blinds at 5,000-10,000 and a 10,000 ante. Day 2 will begin with the blinds rolled back to the starting flight that finished with the lowest blinds.

Day 1B begins tomorrow (Monday) at 11:00 am, with registration open until the end of the dinner break (about 6:45 pm). There will be a total of four starting flights, and players are allowed one entry and one re-entry per starting flight. Day 2 begins on Thursday at 12:00 noon PST.
