Day 1G of the $600 NLH $1 Million Guarantee drew a tournament-high 1,154 entries, bringing the running total to 4,103 with one flight to go. With the turnout, the prize pool is now more than double its guarantee.
Despite the massive field, Calvin Anderson stole the show. Anderson bagged exactly 1 million, good for the overall chip lead in the tournament.
Michael Somervell-Bath (626,000) and Nick Pupillo (524,000) bagged above half a million and will be among the top stacks entering Day 2. Further down the counts, Craig Varnell (151,000) and Tim Duckworth (86,000) also advanced to Sunday’s Day 2.
Complete chip counts from Day 1G will be posted later tonight along with final counts from Day 1H.
Day 1H coverage will continue through the evening until 12.5% of the field remains. Stay tuned to WPT.com for all the updates.
