Better Late Than Never

Feb 12, 2012

There are more than a couple of players who are running a little late this afternoon.  The first level of the day has been going for nearly half an hour, but three unmanned bags of chips are still blinding off.

Alex Abella, Scott Watson, and WPT Champions Club member Matt Giannetti’s stacks are all blinding away.  Watson can afford to lose some chips, as he ended the day with 75,900.  Giannetti is in a little worse shape with a Day 2 starting stack of 46,200.  Abella is the one who is hurting the most, as his 35,900-chip stack is dwindling down under the starting stack.

There were four unmanned stacks in the field, but Harrison Gimbel recently showed up and took his seat.

"You made it," tablemate Kathy Liebert tells him.

"Yeah," Gimbel says with a chuckle. "Better late than never."
