World Poker Tour® Returns to Jeju Shinhwa World for WPT® Korea

WPT Korea Championship at Landing Casino dates with Mike Sexton World Poker Tour Champions Cup

Jeju Island, South Korea (October 28, 2024) – The World Poker Tour® returns to Landing Casino at Jeju Shinhwa World this November for another exciting WPT® Korea event, which will be hosted as a part of the Jeju Poker Festival.

The festival is scheduled for Nov. 15-Dec. 1 with the KRW 2.5 million buy-in (~US $1,860) WPT Korea Championship running Nov. 16-22. There will be three starting flights for the championship event and a prize pool guarantee of KRW 1.68 billion (~US $1.25 million).

“Jeju Island is a sensational location and has become a popular stop on the WPT schedule,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “Thanks to our partners at Landing Casino and Red Dragon who have spearheaded the planning to bring WPT Korea back for a second time this season.”

Nov. will mark the third WPT Korea event in three years. The most recent tournament occurred March 28-Apr. 2 and attracted more than one thousand entrants. Mate Hanusi was the player to conquer the 1,065-entry field, taking home the lion’s share of the KRW 2.6 billion prize pool.

“Landing Casino at Jeju Shinhwa World is again honored and excited to partner with WPT in hosting the WPT Korea Championship this coming November,” said Jenny Lim, Chief Operating Officer at Landing Casino. “Poker tours in Korea are on a steady increase, and the events held at Jeju Shinhwa World with outstanding partners such as WPT add to the excitement and growth of poker in the region.”

The prestigious Jeju Shinhwa World provides players with a choice of three hotels on the property – Landing Hotel, Shinhwa Hotel or Marriott Hotel. Special room rates, and “Early Bird Packages,” can be found on WPT.com.

Two other championship events highlight the Jeju Poker Festival schedule, the Korea Poker Cup (Nov. 21-26) and Red Dragon Poker Tour (Nov. 26-Dec. 1). Any player reaching the final table of two or more championship events will receive an extra prize. Prize details will be released on social media in the coming weeks.
